ACCF has established its reputation as one of the major cultural events of the region, and received highly favourable feedback from international and local participants. Apart from official representatives from the Mainland and eight Asian economies (Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam), international and regional cultural leaders and creative entrepreneurs have been brought together to exchange views at the forum. For ACCF 2009, the invitation has also been extended to India.
The theme of ACCF 2009 is “The Cultural Asian” and the event will be held from 8 to 10 October 2009. To close engage the cultural and arts sector and to benefit wider spectrum of the community, the Home Affairs Bureau has enlisted the support of key arts and cultural bodies to co-organise three thematic sessions of the Open Forum, namely ‘International Exchange and Promotion – A Performing Arts Perspective’, ‘Blending In with Arts’, and ‘The Animated Asia: Future Development of the International Position of Asian Animation’. This exciting series of programmes help generate constructive discussions, inspire new ideas and reflect Hong Kong's cultural environment as being vibrant, pluralistic, and community-driven.
