YOKOMICHI Bunji joined the Japan Foundation (JF) in 1991, after working in private sector for 6 years. After serving in the Performing Arts Division since 1993, during which time he organised significant projects such as Shunkan Collaboration of three Japanese traditional performing art forms (Noh, Kabuki and Bunraku), Asian Fantasy Orchestra, Japan-Indonesia collaborative theatre project. As for JF foreign office, he served as Deputy Director at the Toronto office in Canada for 3 years since 1997. During that period, major projects he was involved were "CJ8 Canada/Japan Dance Partnership", Japanese contemporary graphic design exhibition and series project to introduce Japanese contemporary music. He has been Director of Performing arts section since 2007 until now.
