
Ms Ada WONG
Chair of Hong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture
Director of World Creativity Summit
Ada is a practising solicitor, an elected politician and
a creative education advocate. She is now Chair of the
Wan Chai District Council and was an elected member of
the Urban Council from 1995 to 2000.
Ada is also keenly involved in research and advocacy of
cultural, education, planning, urban regeneration and
local administration policies. She is Council member of
three tertiary institutions, including the Hong Kong Academy
for Performing Arts, the Hong Kong Institute of Education
and Hong Kong Shue Yan University. She is also a board
member of the Hong Kong Design Centre and a member of
the Museums Advisory Group of the West Kowloon Cultural
District Consultative Committee.
Ada has founded and chaired several non-profit educational
and cultural NGOs, including the Hong Kong Institute of
Contemporary Culture, HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity,
Pegasus Philip Wong Kin Hang Christian Primary School
cum Junior Secondary School, the Millennium Youth Orchestra
and the Hong Kong Children's Musical Theatre.
Apart from her active participation in public service,
she is a columnist and now writes for Oriental Daily News.
She also hosts a weekly cultural programme for Commercial
Radio.
Ada received her BA (Hons) from Pomona College, California
USA and her Master of Education (Distinction) from the
University of Hong Kong.
